The following may change; please keep in mind....
General Rules
1. Respect: This is very important, please don't be immature. If you wish to be treated with respect, show it.
2. Vulgar Language/Sexual References: This forum is rated PG13 - let's keep it that way. A censor will automatically block any use of foul language. If you feel the need to use terrible language, then use it lightly. Don't use it excessively.
3.Character's Names - Upon registering, you should modify your profile and include some necessary information such as your character's name. Please modify your name to an appropriate one. Ex. Username - nene223; Display name - Kayla Jameson. In this example, if you were to post in the sorting hat, we would accept the Kayla Jameson name over the nene223.
Role Playing Rules
1. Cannon Characters - NO CANNON CHARACTERS (such as Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, etc.)
2. Cannon Character Relations: I will allow Relations to the cannon characters. However, the first person that states they are related to Harry Potter or Ron Weasley is the one that shall be in control of such relations for that family. Since that said person established the first relation, you must be polite and ask said person if you may be a relative of their own character. Keep in mind, if you are related to Harry Potter and someone else is related to Harry Potter, then you both are related to each other. It's always nice to be a step ahead.
3. God-Modding: This term refers to the unreal invincibility of a character, which often results in someone manipulating the actions of another character without the owner's permission. This is not tolerated at Hogwarts, and we do not want to see it used at all.
4. Mary/Gary Sues: Every person has a flaw or two. Please do not make your character perfect. It is relatively impossible. You are not Mary or Gary Sue.
5. Chat Speak: If you have something brief to say within a post, please do so with in ((parenthesis)) or [[brackets]]. It helps keep the role-playing and the OOC comment separated. DO NOT excessively use this within the threads, that is what the OOC area is for, to talk out of character.
6. Word Count: For each post you do in Hogwarts (excepts games & out of character junk) you are required to have a post of at least 250 words (or more).
Graphics Rules:
1. Size Limitations: 500 x 200
2. Flashing Icons/Signatures- Please...none, it makes some people's computers run slower or act funny.
3. Advertising: You may not advertise a forum anywhere outside of the 'Advertisements' or your signature/profile.
